The Application Stress-Test

The Pre-Flight Check is real. Here’s a real pass — and a real “not yet.”

Before any application reaches you, a panel of 10 distinct recruiter perspectives screens it — and Knock rewrites the weak spots, truthfully, until at least 9 of 10 would advance you. The panel is adversarial by design: when a draft isn’t there yet, it says so, shows you what the reviewers wanted to see, and coaches the gap closed.

  • Bound to your facts. If a draft mentions anything that isn’t on your confirmed fact sheet, Knock flags it and asks you — it never ships an invented claim.
  • It can say “not yet.” A below-bar run is sent back with round-by-round reviewer notes — that’s what makes a pass mean something.
  • You always hit send. When a draft clears the bar, the Knock Extension carries your approved materials onto the employer’s apply page — you review and submit, every time.

The truthfulness gate
Real run · cleared 10/10
A real Pre-Flight run: Knock flags a metric that isn't on the confirmed fact sheet and asks the user to confirm it before the draft ships

A real pass — and even then, Knock stops to confirm a number it couldn’t find on the fact sheet before the draft goes anywhere.

Adversarial, not a rubber stamp
Real run · sent back at 0/10
A real below-bar Pre-Flight run: 0 of 10 reviewers accepted after 3 rounds, with the reviewers' notes and the exact skills that would close the gap

A real refusal: this application never reached “ready.” The panel explains what the reviewers wanted and maps the path to close the gap.

Flashcard

What’s the difference between training data and test data?

Training data teaches the model; test data checks whether it actually learned — on examples it has never seen.

AgainGoodEasy

Key concepts come back exactly when you’re about to forget them.

Flashcards on spaced review

Every course feeds a review deck that resurfaces key concepts right before you'd forget them — retention is built into the platform, not left to willpower.

Ask the tutorThis lesson
Why does the model need a separate test set?
Great question — it’s about honesty. If you grade a model on the same examples it studied, you’re measuring memory, not learning. The test set is the “job interview” it hasn’t rehearsed…
Ask about this lesson…

An AI tutor in every lesson

Stuck on a concept? Ask right there. The tutor knows the lesson you're in, your progress, and your career goal — and it never invents an answer.

Born on a real win — the founder’s story
The before

4–5 months of silence

A working staff accountant, applying everywhere — job boards, cold emails, cold calls. Even roles that paid less. No responses. Nothing.

The spark

2 interviews in 24 hours

He built the first version of Knock for himself, sent his resume through it — and had two interviews within a day, one at a Fortune 500 real estate firm.

The proof

Hot Seat called the questions

Built to prep for round two, Hot Seat put questions in front of him he doubted would ever come up. In the interview, they were asked almost word-for-word.

Within twenty-four hours, I had two interviews at real estate companies, one of them a Fortune 500 company. I was in shock. I honestly couldn't believe it even worked.
Matthew Nabatkhorian · Founder of Knock — his own search, before Knock was a company

He never stopped using it. Knock guided the next steps — sitting for the CPA exam, an Excel certification — and walked him through turning real AI-automation work into a presentable portfolio. He sent that portfolio to past employers, and one reached back out with work. That’s the product: not a job-board, a career co-pilot.

Who’s behind Knock

Matthew Nabatkhorian, Founder

A staff accountant who spent months applying and hearing nothing back — so he built Knock to fix his own search, and landed two interviews inside 24 hours. He still runs his own career on it: the CPA roadmap, the interview practice, the portfolio that got a past employer to reach back out.
